SpeedSmart Gems Program in conjunction with the UCS 2025 Science and Research Carnival Program: Industry and Student Smart Collaboration
PTAR Puncak Alam Empower
PUNCAK ALAM – Tun Abdul Razak Library (PTAR) at UiTM Selangor, Puncak Alam Campus, successfully organized the PERMATA SpeedSmart Program held from November 18 to 19, 2025. The event was held in conjunction with the UCS Knowledge and Research Carnival 2025: Smart Collaboration Between Industry and Students.
- PTAR Puncak Alam organized the PERMATA SpeedSmart Program on November 18–19, 2025, drawing 317 participants during the UCS Knowledge and Research Carnival.
- Managed by Faculty of Information Sciences interns, the project highlighted the PERMATA Mobile Apps through interactive challenges like Explore Hunts and speed reading.
- The initiative successfully drives information literacy and directly advances UiTM's Digital Transformation goals for research and education..
The program recorded an impressive turnout of 317 participants. It serves as a creative initiative under PTAR's Knowledge Cultivation Program, seamlessly integrating digital technology into strategic information-seeking methods.
Managed by industrial training students from the Faculty of Information Sciences, the program introduced participants to the PERMATA Mobile Apps as the premier platform to access library knowledge and information resources in an easy, swift, and interactive manner. The core goal of this initiative is to strengthen the campus reading culture and elevate information literacy through a relaxed, interactive, and digitally friendly approach.
A series of engaging activities were carried out during the event, including:

An introduction and live demonstration of the PERMATA Mobile Apps.

A Speed Reading Challenge.

An Explore Hunt Challenge utilizing the app’s search functions and library book borrowing system.

Interactive quiz sessions and knowledge sharing.
The program successfully met its objectives by reinforcing PTAR's digital knowledge framework and maximizing app engagement. Moving forward, the implementation of PERMATA SpeedSmart has generated a highly positive impact by fostering a fun learning environment, promoting digital resource utilization, and directly supporting UiTM's Digital Transformation agenda in learning and research. PTAR aims to continue this program periodically with further technological enhancements to attract even broader campus participation.
