PASIR GUDANG, 12 June 2026 – Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) Johor Branch successfully hosted a distinguished evaluation panel for an official On-Site Audit Visit. The comprehensive audit, focused on the Evaluation of Domestic Offshore Programs, thoroughly reviewed three (3) academic programs currently offered by the branch.

The formal audit proceedings took place on 11 June 2026 and were centrally hosted at the Perpustakaan Tun Dr. Ismail (PTDI), UiTM Johor Branch, Pasir Gudang Campus.

The core purpose of this rigorous on-site evaluation was to uphold the highest levels of academic integrity and institutional compliance. The primary focus areas included:

• Quality Assurance: To systematically evaluate and ensure that the quality of the offshore academic programs remains exceptional and uncompromised.
• Standard Compliance: To guarantee strict adherence to the robust academic standards and guidelines established by both external academic qualification agencies and the university’s central administration.

Overall, the on-site location audit for the three UiTM Johor Branch offshore programs was executed seamlessly and concluded with resounding success. The preliminary feedback and constructive recommendations for improvement provided by the panel of esteemed auditors are highly invaluable to the institution. PASIR GUDANG, 10 June 2026 – Perpustakaan Tun Dr. Ismail (PTDI) at UiTM Johor Branch, Pasir Gudang Campus, was highly honored to receive an official working visit from the Bursar of Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM), Cik Junita binti Jamaludin C.A. (M) ACMA CGMA, on Wednesday.

The high-level visit, which took place from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM, serves as a significant milestone in strengthening institutional alignment and operational excellence between the university's financial management and its academic support facilities.

The session was marked by a collaborative atmosphere, attended by senior leadership members of the campus:

ALOR GAJAH, 11 June 2026 – The second and final day of the History Walk Exhibition and Find & Win Quiz, held in conjunction with the 2026 International Archives Day Celebration at UiTM Cawangan Melaka, concluded successfully on 11 June 2026.

A total of 67 visitors and participants, comprising students, staff of UiTM Cawangan Melaka, and external visitors, attended the programme to explore the university’s history and participate in the quiz activities provided. Over the two-day programme, held from 10 to 11 June 2026, the event successfully attracted 132 visitors and participants, demonstrating the strong interest and support of the university community and the public towards the preservation of institutional history and heritage.

Through the exhibition, visitors had the opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of the history of UiTM, beginning with the establishment of the Dewan Letahan RIDA, the development of ITM/UiTM Cawangan Melaka, the leadership of the campus, the collection of convocation books and albums, essential university records, the Archive Collection publications, and the innovative PR Smart Table project developed by the Unit Arkib Cawangan Melaka.

The Find & Win Quiz also received an overwhelmingly positive response, with participants eagerly taking the opportunity to test their knowledge based on the information displayed in the exhibition while standing a chance to win attractive prizes.

The Melaka Branch Archives Unit would like to express its highest appreciation and sincere gratitude to all students, staff, external visitors, and everyone who contributed directly or indirectly to the success of this programme.

ALOR GAJAH, 11 June 2026 – In conjunction with the 2026 International Archives Day Celebration at UiTM Cawangan Melaka, Unit Arkib, Perpustakaan Tun Abdul Razak (PTAR), UiTM Cawangan Melaka, successfully organised a Binding Briefing and Demonstration, which received an encouraging response from the university community.

The programme was attended by 20 students and 3 staff members of UiTM Cawangan Melaka, who had the opportunity to gain knowledge and practical experience related to bookbinding and the preservation of printed materials.

The briefing session was delivered by Mr. Jonizam bin Abu Kasim, Pembantu Pustakawan Tertinggi (Pemuliharaan), who explained the concept and importance of binding in the preservation of library materials, archival records, and valuable documents. Participants were also introduced to various types of binding, stitching techniques, and the equipment used in the binding process.

Subsequently, the demonstration session was conducted by Mr. Muhamad Asri bin Abu Hashim, Pembantu Pustakawan (Pemuliharaan), who shared practical bookbinding techniques and methods with the participants.

The highlight of the programme saw all participants taking part in a hands-on book-stitching activity using the Single-Section Binding Method (1-Section Binding), providing them with direct experience in producing neat and well-structured book stitching.

The programme not only enhanced participants’ knowledge of binding techniques but also fostered greater awareness of the importance of preserving printed materials, records, and documentary heritage for the benefit of future generations.

The event was held in conjunction with the Festival Bisnes Orang Muda 2026 (Young Entrepreneurs Business Festival) which took place at the library premises on June 9, 2026.

This outreach initiative was strategically designed to bridge the gap between academic resources and the local business community. The primary objectives of the program included:

• Community Engagement: To bring comprehensive library services closer to the community of young entrepreneurs.
• Resource Promotion: To actively promote and create awareness regarding the extensive digital reference resources currently available at the library.

Keikhlasan dan keprihatinan warga UiTM Cawangan Johor Kampus Pasir Gudang jelas terpancar apabila kempen kesedaran ini mendapat sambutan yang amat memberangsangkan daripada para pelajar mahupun staf. MELAKA, 9 JUNE 2026 - The Opening Ceremony of the 2026 National Librarians Day and International Archives Day Celebration at the State of Melaka level was held successfully in a vibrant and festive atmosphere, bringing together professionals from the fields of librarianship, archives, information management, and academia from various institutions across the state.

The ceremony was officiated by YB Datuk Haji Rosli bin Abdullah, Deputy EXCO for Education, Higher Education and Religious Affairs of the State of Melaka. In his opening address, YB Datuk Haji Rosli bin Abdullah expressed his appreciation for the vital role of libraries and archives as key institutions in preserving knowledge, strengthening the culture of lifelong learning, and ensuring that the nation’s documentary heritage continues to be safeguarded for future generations.

The event also served as a platform to recognise the contributions and commitment of library and archive professionals in enhancing information management, records preservation, and the dissemination of knowledge to society.

It is hoped that the organisation of this programme will further increase public awareness of the importance of libraries and archives as catalysts for knowledge development, research, innovation, and the preservation of the nation’s heritage.

MELAKA, 9 JUNE 2026 - In conjunction with the 2026 National Librarians Day and International Archives Day Celebration at the State of Melaka level, an academic forum bringing together experts in librarianship, archives, and information management was successfully held, receiving an encouraging response from university staff, students, and members of the local community.

The forum was moderated by Dr. Siti Nurshahidah binti Sah Allam, Senior Lecturer from the Faculty of Communication and Media Studies, UiTM Melaka Branch.

The forum featured four distinguished and experienced invited panellists in their respective fields:

📌 Ts. Hj. Azizi bin Hj. Jantan, Chief Librarian, Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM)

📌 Ms. Siti Saluwa binti Jamal, Chief Librarian, Universiti Teknikal Malaysia Melaka (UTeM)

📌 Ms. Maimunah binti Osman, Director of the National Archives of Malaysia, Melaka State

📌 Ms. Tzarfin-Aiedhura binti Abu Hassan, School Resource Centre and Media Teacher at SMKA Sultan Muhammad and Chairperson of the Melaka Branch of the School Librarians and Media Teachers Association (PGPMM)

Throughout the forum, the panellists shared their insights, experiences, and best practices regarding the role of libraries and archives in ensuring access to reliable information, preserving institutional memory, safeguarding public rights, and supporting the development of a future founded on integrity and accountability.

In addition, the discussion focused on the advancement of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and its impact on the fields of librarianship, archives, and information management. The panellists agreed that AI has the potential to serve as a catalyst for transforming information services through the automation of work processes, faster information indexing and retrieval, more efficient data analysis, and enhanced user experiences in accessing information.

However, the panellists also emphasised that the adoption of AI must be carried out ethically and responsibly to ensure the accuracy of information, data security, and the integrity of records. Within the context of libraries and archives, AI is viewed as a complement to the professional expertise of librarians and archivists rather than a replacement for the human role in evaluating, managing, and preserving valuable information resources.

The discussion further highlighted the importance of collaboration among educational institutions, libraries, archives, and communities in addressing the challenges of the digital era while strengthening the culture of knowledge and the preservation of the nation's documentary heritage for the benefit of future generations.

SHAH ALAM, 3 June 2026 — Installation works for the UiTM Library UHF RFID Technology Digitalisation Project have officially commenced in phases across libraries at UiTM Shah Alam as part of the university’s ongoing digital transformation initiative.
