PPTAR HASA Shares Expertise At The Research Proposal Workshop Series 2026

Tun Abdul Razak Medical Library (PPTAR), Hospital Al-Sultan Abdullah (HASA), Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM), was invited to deliver a session entitled "Medical Databases and Reference Management" during the Research Proposal Workshop Series 2026, organised by the Department of Emergency Medicine, Faculty of Medicine, UiTM. The workshop was held on 22 June 2026 at the Clinical Simulation Centre, HASA.

The session was conducted by Puan Noor Azlin Abdullah, Head Librarian of PPTAR HASA, with support from Puan Fasihah Abdul Wahab and Puan Nur Ira Wahidah Nasir. The programme was attended by 19 postgraduate students from the Emergency Medicine and Anaesthesiology & Intensive Care programmes, Faculty of Medicine, UiTM.

The session provided participants with an overview of the medical databases subscribed to by UiTM, highlighting the features and benefits of resources such as ClinicalKey, Scopus, Web of Science, and UpToDate in supporting evidence-based research. Participants were also introduced to systematic and effective literature searching strategies to help identify relevant and high-quality references for research and academic writing.

In addition, the workshop covered the fundamentals of reference management software, proper citation practices, bibliography preparation, and the importance of academic integrity and plagiarism prevention in scholarly writing. Mastery of these skills is essential to ensure that research meets the required academic standards and upholds research integrity.
