SHAH ALAM, 5 May 2026 – Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) continues its efforts to enhance students’ research capabilities through an Information Literacy Class focusing on Online Databases, organised by PTAR Engineering.
- PTAR Engineering organised an online database literacy class for 150 UiTM students.
- The session introduced effective search techniques and use of academic databases.
- The programme supports students in improving research and academic writing skills.
The session was held from 2.00 p.m. to 3.00 p.m. at the Examination Room, Level 6, Block 1, Engineering Complex, UiTM Shah Alam. A total of 150 students attended the programme, reflecting strong interest in improving digital research skills.
The class was led by Senior Librarian Puan Norhamimi Othman, together with a team of PTAR Engineering staff comprising En. Mohd Fitri, Norhasima Hashim, Norsaliha Mad Mudin, and Nur Fatin Tohar.
During the session, participants were introduced to various online databases available through the library, with guidance on effective search strategies, accessing scholarly resources, and evaluating credible sources for academic use. The session also provided hands-on exposure to ensure students could confidently navigate digital platforms for their research needs.
This initiative highlights PTAR Engineering’s ongoing commitment to supporting academic excellence by equipping students with essential information literacy skills. Such programmes play a vital role in fostering independent learning and improving the overall quality of research and academic writing among UiTM students.
