Kuala Lumpur, 21 April 2026 – The “Master Canva for Excellent Libraries” course commenced its first day with great enthusiasm among participants from the National Library of Malaysia.
- The course introduced Canva basics and visual design concepts.

The session began with an introduction to the Canva ecosystem and the importance of visual design in strengthening library information delivery. The session was conducted by experienced speaker En. Mohd Alfarabie Mohd Nasir, alongside facilitator En. Shahrul Hairy. Participants were introduced to Canva fundamentals, including key functions, element selection, and effective design arrangement techniques.
Notably, the first day also emphasized professional design principles such as alignment, contrast, and visual hierarchy, which are essential in producing high-quality communication materials. Through a hands-on approach, participants had the opportunity to refine existing designs and create more structured, engaging, and impactful library programme posters.
The “Tips & Tricks Canva” segment further captured participants’ interest by showcasing quick techniques to enhance design efficiency within a short time.
Overall, the first day of the course successfully broadened participants’ perspectives on Canva as a strategic tool in empowering digital communication for libraries, in line with the aspiration of transforming libraries into Vibrant Centres of Learning.
