Machang, 28 April 2026 – The Branch Archive Unit of Perpustakaan Tengku Anis successfully organised a collaborative teaching session on 27 and 28 April 2026 involving two classes of Semester Five students from the Diploma in Information Management (CDIM110), Faculty of Information Science, for the Foundation of Archives (IMD313) course.
- The Branch Archive Unit delivered a collaborative session giving CDIM110 students practical exposure to archival work.
- Students experienced guided tours and hands-on demonstrations in records storage and digitisation.
- The programme strengthened understanding by linking theory with real archival practice.
The briefing session was delivered by the Head of Archive Unit, Puan Norfitriah Mat Seman, with support from archive staff members Muhamad Nazari Muhamad Nor, Mohd Waqiyuddin Mohd Dzulkifly and Mohd Ridzuan Ramli.
The programme involved final semester students to provide direct exposure to the functions and services of the Archive Unit, while strengthening their understanding through a practical learning approach aligned with course requirements.
In addition to the theoretical briefing, the session also included a guided tour of the records storage area and the digitisation workflow. Through the visit, students had the opportunity to observe the condition of record storage rooms, material arrangement systems, as well as demonstrations on the use of preservation machines and equipment.
Overall, the session provided a more comprehensive and practical learning experience, further enhancing students’ understanding of real-world applications in archives management.
