14 September 2026 - After a competition filled with creativity and unique ideas, it was time to celebrate the departments that participated in the Reading Corner Competition organised by Perpustakaan Perubatan Tun Abdul Razak (PPTAR), Hospital Al-Sultan Abdullah (HASA).
Starting from an empty space, each department brought its own creative touch and ideas to transform their Reading Corner into a welcoming space. From creative layouts and decorations to thoughtfully selected reading materials, the goal remained the same - to create a small space that encourages HASA staff and the community to pause, read and gain knowledge.
At the prize-giving ceremony held today, Ward 8C was crowned the First Place winner, while the Finance Department and Radiology Department secured Second and Third Place, respectively. The Human Resource Management Department (JPSM) was also recognised for its effort and creativity throughout the competition.
The prizes were presented by Deputy Director of Professional and Operations, Dato' Dr. Khalid Ibrahim. During the ceremony, certificates of appreciation were also presented to the panel of judges as a token of gratitude for their time, commitment and valuable insights in evaluating each entry.
More than just a competition, the Reading Corner initiative represents a small effort to bring the reading culture closer to the HASA community - not only within the library, but also into workplaces and everyday routines.
Congratulations to all participating departments. Thank you for making every corner more meaningful through stories, creativity and the spirit of reading.
