Temerloh, 24 April 2026 – Biodiversity is not only found deep within forests or protected areas. This was one of the key experiences for 40 participants who explored the natural surroundings of Taman Tasik Bandar Temerloh as part of the Pahang Biodiversity Adventure 2026.
Bringing together community college students, teachers, and library staff, the programme began at Perpustakaan Awam Daerah Temerloh before moving outdoors for a hands-on biodiversity observation activity.
At Taman Tasik Bandar Temerloh, participants explored an environment familiar to the local community from a different perspective. They observed, identified, and documented various species found around the area, demonstrating how biodiversity can be discovered even in places encountered in everyday life.
A practical demonstration complemented the field activity by introducing participants to systematic methods of recording and sharing their observations. Through this approach, participants gained first-hand experience in citizen science while contributing to the documentation of local biodiversity.
The active participation throughout the programme reflected a strong interest in exploring and understanding the natural environment. Following the Temerloh programme, the Pahang Biodiversity Adventure 2026 will continue its journey to Kuantan.
