PTAR Knowledge Exploration Programme Enhances PERMATA and Digital Library Services at UiTM

Shah Alam, 21 April 2026 – The Jelajah Ilmu programme organised by the Tun Abdul Razak Library (PTAR) was successfully held in conjunction with the UiTM Customer Engagement Day, involving student associations and clubs, with a strong focus on promoting the use of PERMATA and Digital Library services.

This initiative served as a strategic platform to bring library services closer to the campus community, particularly student organisations, while increasing awareness of the importance of accessing reliable, fast, and easily accessible information.

Through the programme, visitors were introduced to PERMATA as an integrated search engine that provides access to a wide range of scholarly resources, including online databases, e-books, and academic journals. The platform enables users to retrieve high-quality information through a single search, supporting both learning and research needs.

In addition, the Digital Library services were highlighted as a solution for borderless learning. Facilities such as 24-hour access to digital materials and the “Chat with Librarian” service allow students to obtain reference assistance anytime and from anywhere.

According to the organisers, this approach aligns with current trends that demand digital transformation in library service delivery. It not only enhances information retrieval efficiency but also helps cultivate information-literate and competitive students in the academic environment.

As part of the programme, the Jelajah Ilmu held at Dewan Mawar on 20 and 21 April 2026 was enlivened with various interactive activities, including the “Speed Challenge,” “Find Date with a Book,” quick quizzes, and reading tests, which attracted strong participation from visitors.

Overall, the programme reflects the library’s ongoing commitment to empowering knowledge culture through innovative digital approaches, further strengthening its role as a cornerstone of academic excellence at UiTM.
