Puncak Alam, 3 October 2025 – Perpustakaan Tun Abdul Razak (PTAR), UiTM Cawangan Selangor welcomed approximately 3,000 new students as part of the Minggu Destini Siswa (MDS) 2025 programme, providing them with an opportunity to explore the library’s facilities, services, and learning resources.

Held on the final day of MDS 2025, the special library visit and briefing session aimed to introduce students from various faculties to the role of PTAR as a central hub for knowledge, learning, and research support throughout their academic journey at UiTM.
The programme took place from 8.30 a.m. to 4.30 p.m. at PTAR Puncak Alam Campus and was supported by librarians, library staff, and PTAR industrial training students who worked together to ensure the smooth execution of the event.
During the visit, students were given an overview of the library’s facilities and services, including computer workstations, discussion rooms, reading spaces, book borrowing services, and digital resources. Participants responded enthusiastically to the modern learning environment and the wide range of academic support services available.
The programme was designed to:
- Introduce the functions and role of PTAR as the university’s primary knowledge resource centre.
- Familiarise students with the library’s facilities, services, and information systems.
- Promote awareness of library usage guidelines and access to physical and digital resources.
- Encourage active participation in PTAR’s knowledge-cultivation programmes and activities.
- Foster positive relationships between the library and new students.
The initiative successfully enhanced students’ understanding of the library’s role in supporting academic success while encouraging greater utilisation of its facilities and resources.
Among the key outcomes of the programme were increased awareness of library services, stronger engagement between students and library staff, and greater readiness among students to access scholarly resources independently. The programme also supports UiTM’s aspiration to produce graduates who are knowledgeable, information-literate, and academically competitive.
Overall, the MDS 2025 library visit programme achieved its objectives by providing new students with a comprehensive introduction to PTAR and its vital role in enriching the university learning experience.
