Cameron Highlands, 22 April 2026 – The unique montane ecosystem of Cameron Highlands became the latest destination for the Pahang Biodiversity Adventure 2026, bringing together students, teachers, and library staff for a day of biodiversity exploration and citizen science activities.
The programme involved 46 participants from SMK Sultan Ahmad Shah, SMK Ringlet, SMK Kampung Raja, teachers, and library staff. Activities began at Perpustakaan Awam Daerah before continuing to Cameron Highlands Montane Park (CHiMP) and Taman Eko Rimba Parit Falls, where participants explored the highland environment while observing and documenting a wide variety of local flora and fauna.
Supported by a practical demonstration on using the iNaturalist platform, participants learned how to accurately record and upload biodiversity observations. The cool climate and well-preserved natural surroundings provided an ideal setting for field activities, allowing participants to discover species unique to the highland ecosystem while gaining a deeper appreciation of biodiversity conservation.
The enthusiastic participation throughout the programme resulted in more than 1,500 biodiversity observations, marking another significant milestone for the Pahang Biodiversity Adventure 2026. The achievement reflects the collective commitment of participants to documenting biodiversity and contributing valuable data for citizen science initiatives.
The programme concluded successfully with the cooperation of all participants and organisers. The Pahang Biodiversity Adventure 2026 will continue its journey to Temerloh and Bera, expanding opportunities for communities across Pahang to engage in biodiversity conservation.
