Bera, 24 April 2026 – More than 1,000 biodiversity observations were recorded during the Bera series of the Pahang Biodiversity Adventure 2026, marking another encouraging achievement for the programme's citizen science efforts across the state.
The programme brought together 56 participants from Maktab Rendah Sains MARA ATM Bera, SMA Ittifaqiyah, teachers, members of the public, and library staff. The diverse participation reflected the programme's ability to engage different groups in exploring and documenting biodiversity within their surroundings.
Activities began with a briefing at Perpustakaan Awam Daerah Bera before participants headed outdoors to explore the surrounding area. Despite taking place within the vicinity of the library, the observation activity revealed a variety of species that could be found close to the local community.
Participants actively explored the area, identified species, and documented their findings throughout the programme. A practical demonstration also provided guidance on systematically uploading and sharing biodiversity observations using the iNaturalist platform.
The collective effort resulted in more than 1,000 observations, highlighting the participants' enthusiasm and consistent involvement in citizen science. Through hands-on activities such as these, the programme continues to demonstrate that meaningful biodiversity discoveries can take place even within familiar community spaces.
Following the programme in Bera, the Pahang Biodiversity Adventure 2026 will continue its journey to Kuantan.
