PUNCAK ALAM, 15 September 2026 — The Basic Librarianship and School Library Management Programme for Selangor Schools 2026 was successfully held on 14 and 15 September 2026, bringing together 49 School Resource and Media Centre teachers from schools across Selangor.
The programme was jointly organised by Perpustakaan Tun Abdul Razak (PTAR), UiTM Selangor Branch, Faculty of Information Science (FSM), and the Educational Resources and Technology Sector, Selangor State Education Department (JPNS).
- 49 Selangor school resource centre teachers participated in a two-day basic librarianship and library management programme.
- PTAR UiTM Selangor, FSM and JPNS collaborated to strengthen school library management and librarianship skills.
- The programme supports efforts to enhance knowledge, reading culture and information literacy in Selangor schools.
The two-day programme aimed to strengthen teachers’ knowledge and practical skills in basic librarianship, library management and the systematic administration of school resource centres. The initiative also provided participants with opportunities to enhance their understanding of effective and professional approaches to managing school library resources and services.
The Closing Ceremony was officiated by Rector of UiTM Selangor Branch, Professor Dr. Ahmad Taufek Abdul Rahman, and attended by Chief Assistant Director of the Educational Resources and Technology Sector, Selangor State Education Department, Puan Hafizah Mohamad.
The programme is expected to contribute to the continuous improvement of School Resource Centre management, while supporting efforts to foster a stronger culture of knowledge, reading and information literacy among school communities.
