The Branch Archive Unit (UAC), Perpustakaan Tengku Anis (PTA) organized a collaborative teaching class session on April 27 and 28, 2026. This involved two classes of Semester Five students from the Diploma in Information Management (CDIM110) under the Faculty of Information Science (FSM) for the Foundation of Archives (IMD313) course.
- Practical Learning: Students gained hands-on exposure to archive management and services.
- Real-World Exposure: Students explored record storage, arrangement, conservation, and digitization processes.
- Learning Enhancement: The session strengthened students’ understanding of practical archive management.
The briefing session was delivered by the Head of the Archive Unit, Madam Norfitriah Mat Seman (Senior Librarian), with the support of Archive Unit staff members, namely Mr. Muhamad Nazari Muhamad Nor, Mr. Mohd Waqiyuddin Mohd Dzulkifly, and Mr. Mohd Ridzuan Ramli (Senior Library Assistants).
This program involved final-semester students to provide direct exposure to the functions and services of the Archive Unit, while also reinforcing their understanding through a practical-based learning approach that aligns with the course requirements.
In addition to the theoretical briefing, the session also included a guided tour of the record storage area and the material digitization workflow. Through this tour, the students had the opportunity to witness firsthand the condition of the record storage rooms, the material arrangement systems, as well as demonstrations on the use of conservation machines and equipment.
Overall, this session provided a more comprehensive and practical learning experience, thereby enhancing the students' understanding of real-world applications in archive management.
