SUNGAI PETANI, 19 May 2026 – The Sultan Badlishah Library (PSB), UiTM Kedah Branch, organized the “Siri Telaah: Book Review” program entitled “Mendakap Kesedihan Dengan Al-Quran”, which was broadcast live through the library’s official YouTube channel.
- The Siri Telaah program promoted reading culture and knowledge sharing among the university community.
- The session highlighted the Al-Quran as a source of emotional healing, peace, and guidance in life.
- The initiative strengthened PSB’s role as a center for intellectual and spiritual knowledge dissemination.
The program was organized as an effort to expand the culture of reading and strengthen the appreciation of knowledge among the community. In addition, the program also served as a platform for sharing views, intellectual discussions, and the cultivation of knowledge-based values among members of the university community.
The meaningful program featured Saudari Hurul Aina Karmila binti Mohamad Rosly as the speaker (discussant), while the session was moderated by Saudari Nurul Izyan binti Shamsul Zamdi, an industrial training student from the Faculty of Information Science, UiTM Kedah Branch.
The book “Mendakap Kesedihan Dengan Al-Quran” is a soul-touching work that guides readers to understand that the Al-Quran is not merely a book to be read, but also a source of peace, emotional healing, and guidance in facing life’s challenges. The book highlights how individuals who experience sadness, loss, stress, and anxiety can rediscover strength through the appreciation and understanding of verses from the Al-Quran.
Through the review approach and interactive discussion, participants were not only exposed to the book’s contents comprehensively, but also gained beneficial knowledge from an intellectually enriching discourse in the field of religion. Indirectly, the session supported the library’s efforts in strengthening the reading culture and positioning books as a primary medium for the dissemination of knowledge. The program was also in line with UiTM’s aspiration to produce individuals who are balanced intellectually and morally.
The successful implementation of this Siri Telaah program demonstrated the continuous commitment of the Sultan Badlishah Library in cultivating knowledge and strengthening the role of the library as a center for reference and knowledge sharing at the university level.
