UiTM PTAR Celebrates World Book Day with Insightful Dementia Care Sharing Session

PUNCAK ALAM, April 23, 2026 – Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) Selangor Branch successfully held its signature "Let's Spend 10 Minutes Reading" initiative today. Organised by Tun Abdul Razak Library (PTAR), the simple yet impactful program highlights UiTM's continuous commitment to fostering a consistent reading culture and empowering lifelong knowledge acquisition across the local community.

This year's session coincided with the global celebration of World Book and Copyright Day, under the inspiring national theme "Reading Builds a Nation."

To mark the occasion, the program featured a compelling academic review entitled "Occupational Therapy and Dementia Care," adapted directly from the prominent literary works of Laura N. Gitlin and Mary A. Corcoran. The review offered vital public exposure on the clinical role of occupational therapy in managing dementia, focusing on practical methods to elevate the daily quality of life for both patients and their primary caregivers.

The discourse was expertly moderated by Mr. Mohd Ekhwan Mohammad, Senior Assistant Librarian at PTAR, and featured keynote speaker Madam Nur Atiqah Azman, an experienced specialist lecturer from UiTM's Faculty of Health Sciences.

Commencing at 2:00 PM, the interactive session attracted an eager audience of students, faculty members, and the public. Through the ongoing execution of the "Let's Spend 10 Minutes Reading" campaign, PTAR aims to instill a steady passion for reading, proving that even small daily habits can significantly enrich the intellectual and social well-being of the nation.
