The Artificial Intelligence Library Assistant of Perpustakaan UiTM
AILA (Artificial Intelligence Library Assistant) is a virtual librarian that represents a new era in digital information management at Perpustakaan UiTM (PUiTM). Officially introduced on 29 May 2025, AILA embodies PUiTM’s commitment to innovation, digital transformation, and user-centric library services.
More than just an AI avatar, AILA serves as a virtual persona that introduces and promotes PUiTM’s digital initiatives and products including PERMATA and other emerging platforms directly to the UiTM community through dynamic and engaging social media content.
Development Journey
AILA made her first public appearance in a tutorial video on how to log in to the PERMATA Portal, marking the beginning of her role as a digital guide and ambassador for PUiTM.

Visual Identity – The Face of AILA
AILA’s visual identity was created using Google AI Studio, powered by the Google Image Gen-3 model.
Her facial design was inspired by the elegance and professionalism of selected Malaysian artists, intentionally incorporated into the prompt to ensure that:
- She appears trustworthy and approachable
- Her character reflects professionalism and credibility
- She aligns with the corporate image and values of the library
This careful design ensures AILA resonates well with users while strengthening the library’s modern digital image.
Voice & Communication Style
ith a friendly appearance and interactive communication style, AILA was designed to:
- Attract the campus community to explore PUiTM’s digital facilities and services
- Serve as a fresh, relevant, and approachable communication icon, particularly for Gen Z and young adults
- Raise awareness of PUiTM’s digital transformation journey and AI-driven initiatives
AILA communicates not just information — but also the library’s evolving identity in the digital age.
