The Tun Abdul Razak Library (PTAR), successfully organised a two-day Information Literacy Workshop for UiTM Library Staff on 9–10 February 2026 at the Seminar Room, PTAR 1. The programme brought together 68 participants comprising academic (P&P) and administrative staff.
- PTAR UiTM conducted a workshop to strengthen Information Literacy instruction.
- The programme introduced Research Data Management (RDM) to enhance data governance and compliance.
- The initiative reinforces PTAR’s commitment to quality teaching and lifelong learning.
The workshop was strategically designed to standardise the delivery of Information Literacy modules across UiTM libraries, enhance instructors’ pedagogical competencies, and strengthen their use of technology and interactive teaching methodologies. A key objective was to cultivate a pool of competent internal facilitators aligned with UiTM’s academic standards and best practices.
In response to the evolving demands of the university’s research ecosystem, the workshop was further enriched with the introduction of a Research Data Management (RDM) module. This component aimed to strengthen instructors’ understanding of research data governance, promote good data management practices, enhance research visibility, and ensure compliance with data openness and regulatory requirements.
Throughout the programme, participants engaged in sessions outlining the strategic direction of Information Literacy at PUiTM, best-practice sharing by invited experts, and microteaching activities designed to reinforce practical skills as Academic Learning Facilitators. This structured approach supports the continuity of the UiTM Learning Hub Series, contributes to UiTM’s Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), and aligns with the PUiTM Strategic Plan.
This initiative reflects PTAR’s sustained commitment to strengthening instructor capacity, enhancing the quality of Information Literacy and RDM delivery, and fostering a culture of lifelong learning within UiTM’s knowledge ecosystem.
