Online Finding Aids: A Web-Based System for Archival Research and Reference Services

In an effort to enhance access to archival materials, Online Finding Aids has been developed as a web-based platform designed to provide streamlined research and reference services for users and researchers. This system is a major step toward ensuring that archival materials are accessible to a wider audience, allowing for smoother access to vital documents without the need for physical visits to the archives.

Open Access Search and Easy Login for Reservations

The Online Finding Aids system features an open search function, allowing anyone to browse through the available archival collections freely. This user-friendly search interface enables users to filter and locate archival materials using various criteria such as date, document type, or specific keywords. The open search ensures that relevant information can be found quickly and efficiently, making the platform accessible to both casual users and serious researchers.

However, for reservations of archival materials, users are required to log in. UiTM members can sign in using their institutional accounts, while external users can conveniently sign in via Google. This login process ensures that only registered users can reserve archival materials, which helps maintain the security and integrity of the collections.
