Announcement

Discontinued of Database Subscription: Dictionary of Natural Products (CHEMnetBASE)

Dear UiTM Library Users,

We hope this message finds you well. We want to inform you of an important update regarding our database subscriptions, specifically the Dictionary of Natural Products (DNP) on CHEMnetBASE. After careful consideration and review, we have made the difficult decision to discontinue our subscription to the DNP effective 1 April 2024.

This decision was not made lightly. In our ongoing efforts to provide the most relevant and valuable resources to our community, we periodically review our database offerings against usage, cost, and the evolving needs of our users. Although the DNP has been a valuable resource, we believe that reallocating resources towards other services will better serve our users's interests and needs at this time.

What This Means for You:

  • Access Until Discontinuation Date: You will continue full access to the DNP until 31 March 2024. We encourage you to make the most of this period by downloading or saving any critical data you need.

  • Alternative Resources: We are committed to supporting your research and academic efforts. A list of alternative databases and resources that can serve as substitutes for the DNP will be provided as follows:
    1. ScienceDirect, Emerald, Scopus, and Web of Science
    2. Inter-Library Loan (ILL)
    3. Pay Per View (PPV)

Our staff is also on hand to assist with identifying and navigating these alternatives.

  • Feedback and Support: We understand that this change may impact your work and are here to support you through this transition. Don't hesitate to contact us via Dr. Hajah Adlina Abdullah (This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.) - 03-5543 5797 for any questions, concerns, or feedback. Your input is invaluable in helping us refine and improve our service offerings.

We appreciate your understanding and cooperation as we make these changes. Our goal is always to provide our users with the best resources and support for their research, teaching, and learning needs.

Thank you for your continued support and partnership.

Sincerely,

Dr. Hajah Adlina Abdullah
