MAJOR WORK TALK: “SAYANG SARAWAK”
Perpustakaan Tun Abdul Razak (PTAR) UiTM Sarawak Branch successfully organized a programme in conjunction with International Archives Day and Sarawak Day through the Major Work Talk entitled “Sayang Sarawak” on 31 July 2025.
The programme featured local writer and literary figure, Dr. Idris Boi, as the main speaker, who shared his experiences and insights on the writing process as well as the cultural values presented in the book “Sayang Sarawak.”
The work highlights the theme of love for the state of Sarawak through the lens of history, cultural heritage, and indigenous identity. The speaker also discussed the development of local narratives in creative writing and their role in strengthening cultural identity.
This programme is part of PTAR’s ongoing efforts to promote local literary works and foster interest in Malay literature, particularly among the university community. It also provided an intellectual platform for interaction between the author and participants, including external agencies and university staff.
Highest appreciation is extended to all parties directly and indirectly involved in the success of this programme. It is hoped that such initiatives will continue to be carried out in order to empower knowledge and preserve the nation’s literary heritage.
