Establishment
PTAR Engineering, formerly known as PTAR 3, was established on 15 October 2003 and began full operation on 20 November 2003. Located at Tower 2, Podium B, Level 3 of the Tuanku Abdul Halim Mu’adzam Shah Engineering Complex.

PTAR Engineering has been allocated 4 floors, starting with floors 3, 4 and 6 which have collections for the engineering field. The collection of reference materials at PTAR Engineering covers 4 fields of study:
Civil Engineering Studies
Mechanical Engineering Studies
Electrical Engineering Studies
Chemical Engineering Studies
While there is an Annex Library, separately on the 6th floor which has a special collection for Standard Materials and the Flood Control collection.
The construction of the Engineering Complex where the Engineering PTAR is located was based on the approval of the ITM Council in 1996, following the new structuring of Engineering Studies which had further expanded its specialization. The Engineering Complex construction project began to be developed and took 4 years to complete from 1998-2002. The Engineering Complex was given a new name, the Tuanku Abdul Halim Mu’adzam Shah Engineering Complex and this name was maintained through Vice Chancellor Circular Number 28 of 2020.
