The University Archives Division of Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) recently hosted a significant engagement session with distinguished RIDA alumni, YBhg. Dato’ Sri Mohamed Abid and Tuan Haji Ami Salleh, reaffirming the institution’s commitment to preserving its historical records and cultural heritage.

Chaired by Mr. Ahmad Amiri, Director of the University Archives Division, the session was also attended by Ms. Aznur Umiza, Director of the Library Management Division. The alumni were accompanied by Ms. Aida and Mr. Luthfi, adding to the collaborative spirit of the gathering.
This meeting provided a vital platform to collect, document, and safeguard historical records, archival materials, memorabilia, and early narratives of UiTM’s development — tracing its journey from the RIDA era to its current standing as a premier institution of higher learning in Malaysia.
The alumni’s recollections and personal experiences enriched the university’s archival collection, offering invaluable references for future generations to understand UiTM’s history, struggles, and identity as a leading national educational institution.
Through this initiative, UiTM Library, via the University Archives Division, demonstrated its dedication to ensuring that the intellectual and historical legacy of the institution is preserved, digitized, and shared with both the university community and society at large.
