Brunei Darussalam, 1 April 2026 – The Tun Abdul Razak Library (PTAR) of Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) continues to expand its global network through a strategic working visit to key library institutions in Brunei Darussalam.

The visit included engagements with the Dewan Bahasa dan Pustaka Library of Brunei and the Universiti Brunei Darussalam (UBD) Library, where the UiTM delegation was warmly received by respective representatives from both institutions.
At the Dewan Bahasa dan Pustaka Library, the delegation was welcomed by Puan Fatin Nuramalina binti Haji Muhd. Syafi’e and Pengiran Serimohayatun binti Pengiran Haji Metussin. Meanwhile, at the UBD Library, the delegation was received by Acting Chief Librarian Dk. Noraini binti Pg Haji Idris and Haji Ahmad Nabil bin Haji Sulaiman.
The visit was held following an invitation from the Brunei History Centre to support collaborative efforts in the digitisation and description of Malay Archipelago manuscripts. This initiative represents a significant step in preserving regional intellectual heritage for future generations.
The UiTM delegation was led by Chief Librarian Ts. Haji Azizi bin Haji Jantan, accompanied by Encik Mohd Ismail bin Abidin. Throughout the visit, knowledge-sharing sessions were conducted, focusing on library governance and management, digital repository development, and the transformation of information services through technology.
Discussions also emphasized the development of a sustainable digital library ecosystem, aimed at enhancing open and inclusive access to knowledge across the region.
This initiative aligns with the Malaysia MADANI aspiration, which highlights values such as sustainability, well-being, and compassion in building a knowledgeable and balanced society.
Upholding the principle “Adab before knowledge,” UiTM’s approach underscores not only academic excellence but also the cultivation of integrity, ethics, and a strong culture of knowledge.
The visit goes beyond a formal engagement, reflecting UiTM’s ongoing commitment to strengthening regional strategic collaborations, elevating the status of Malay manuscript heritage, and advancing a global knowledge culture.
