Shah Alam, 31 January 2026 – Perpustakaan Tun Abdul Razak (PTAR),continues to demonstrate its commitment to community engagement and educational empowerment through the successful organisation of the Speed Reading and Canva Application Programme involving 50 participants from Asrama Yayasan Selangor, Klang.
- PTAR UiTM conducted a Speed Reading and Digital Literacy programme for Asrama Yayasan Selangor.

The programme, which brought together teachers and students, was designed to enhance reading efficiency and digital literacy skills within an academic library environment. It was conducted as part of PTAR’s ongoing School Community Service initiatives aimed at fostering lifelong learning and 21st-century competencies.
The programme was led by experienced PTAR personnel, namely Ms Ummi Halimatunssaadiyya binti Shamsul Yuzli, Librarian, who served as the main speaker, with facilitation support from Mr Muhammad Farid Zulhimi bin Zulkifli and Ms Fatimah binti Abdullah Sani, both Assistant Librarians.
Key areas of focus during the programme included effective speed reading techniques to improve comprehension and reading efficiency, as well as hands-on exposure to the Canva application to support creative learning, academic assignments, and presentations. Participants also experienced interactive learning sessions conducted within the academic library setting, providing them with direct exposure to higher education learning environments.
In addition to the learning sessions, participants took part in guided hands-on activities, focused mentoring sessions, and a tour of Perpustakaan Tun Abdul Razak. The visit allowed participants to gain a deeper understanding of the library’s role as a hub for knowledge dissemination, creativity, and digital innovation.
This initiative reflects PTAR’s role as a strategic partner to the educational community in nurturing knowledgeable, creative, and digitally competent learners. Through technology-driven knowledge sharing and collaborative community engagement, PTAR continues to contribute towards empowering future-ready generations.
