SHAH ALAM, June 13, 2026 – The Faculty of Computer and Mathematical Sciences at UiTM Shah Alam has been officially selected as the host university for the prestigious Korea-ASEAN Digital Academy program. The grand launching ceremony took place today at 9:00 AM at the Annex Hall, UiTM Shah Alam.
- PTAR contributed three commemorative books for the VIP Guests of Honor, handed over via Deputy Director Dr. Sharifaillah Nordin.
- Digital Minister YB Gobind Singh Deo officiated the event, which was attended by top international diplomats, ministry officials, and tech CEOs.
- UiTM's Faculty of Computer and Mathematical Sciences successfully hosted the launch of the Korea-ASEAN Digital Academy at the Annex Hall.
The launch was officially officiated by YB Gobind Singh Deo, the Minister of Digital. The high-profile event drew an esteemed lineup of dignitaries, including YBhg. Datuk Fabian Bigar (Secretary General of the Ministry of Digital), Dr. Kao Kim Hourn (Secretary General of ASEAN), His Excellency Yeo Seung-bae (Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Malaysia), and Mr. Park Yoon-kyu (President of the National IT Industry Promotion Agency - NIPA). Other prominent figures in attendance included Encik Anuar Fariz Fadzil (CEO of MDEC), Mr. Ji-young Park (CEO of ABLearn), Ts. Mr. Sreeman Mannamu (CEO of Garranto Academy Malaysia), and Profesor Datuk Ts. Dr. Shahrin bin Sahib @ Sahibuddin (Vice-Chancellor of UiTM).
To commemorate this international milestone, the Tun Abdul Razak Library (PTAR) contributed three special publication books to be presented to three of the evening's main VIP Guests of Honor. The book contribution was formally handed over to Dr. Sharifaillah Nordin, the Deputy Director of the Korea-ASEAN Digital Academy, during the event proceedings. This contribution highlights PTAR's active role in backing high-impact international academic initiatives and fostering global digital literacy partnerships.
