Program Jelajah Ilmu (Knowledge Outreach Program)

SUNGAI PETANI, 28–29 April 2026 – The Sultan Badlishah Library (PSB), UiTM Kedah Branch, organized the Program Jelajah Ilmu (Knowledge Outreach Program) with students and staff of UiTM at the MASMED Kiosk area, UiTM Kedah Branch. This program is an initiative to cultivate a culture of knowledge and represents the library’s effort to deliver its services to users, focusing on the empowerment of information literacy, the digitization of resources, and support for university research.

The program, held from 9:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., was designed as a comprehensive platform for exposure and dissemination of knowledge related to library services. It aimed to increase awareness among the UiTM Kedah community of the importance of the library’s role as a strategic partner in learning and research. With content centered on academic support, digital resources, and technology-driven services, the program aligns with UiTM’s aspiration to promote the effective, innovative, and high-impact use of knowledge.

Knowledge-sharing activities such as briefing sessions, poster exhibitions, university archive booths, and related reference materials successfully attracted the interest of students and staff. These were further enhanced by a quiz challenge testing participants’ knowledge of library services, offering an attractive prize.

This positive response provided participants with the opportunity to receive direct guidance on various library services, including access to the Online Finding Archive (OFA) system for searching archival materials, procedures for using university reference resources via the PERMATA system, the MyReading collection within PERMATA – MyAccount, information searching methods, research consultation, as well as the use of the EKKM system for booking information literacy classes.

The successful implementation of this initiative demonstrates UiTM Library’s continuous commitment to strengthening a culture of knowledge at the university level.
