The Tun Abdul Razak Medical Library (PPTAR), Hospital Al-Sultan Abdullah (HASA), successfully organised the Knowledge Cultivation, Community Engagement and Health Literacy Programme with the support of the KPT Prihatin Komuniti Sejahtera (KRIS) Programme and in collaboration with Sekolah Kebangsaan Puncak Alam.
The programme aimed to foster a culture of knowledge, strengthen information literacy, and raise awareness of the importance of health and well-being among students through a variety of educational and interactive activities.
The programme featured the "Jom Celik Maklumat" (Information Literacy Awareness) talk delivered by Puan Noor Azlin Abdullah, Head of the Tun Abdul Razak Medical Library (PPTAR), Hospital Al-Sultan Abdullah (HASA). This was followed by the "Sahsiah Seorang Pelajar" (Building Good Character as a Student) talk by Puan Noraida Mohd Yusof, Deputy Registrar, Governance and Integrity Division, Hospital Al-Sultan Abdullah (HASA), as well as a counselling session entitled "Understanding Yourself: Healthy Relationships, Boundaries & Sexuality" presented by Encik Muhammad Azarul Ashraf Abdul Jalil, Psychologist, Counselling Unit, Hospital Al-Sultan Abdullah (HASA).
The programme also included Basic Health Screening, comprising blood pressure, Body Mass Index (BMI), blood glucose, cholesterol and uric acid tests, together with health consultation services. Participants also had the opportunity to visit interactive booths featuring the Speed Reading Test, PPTAR External Membership, Department of Dietetics, and Department of Primary Care Medicine.
PPTAR HASA also extends its sincere appreciation to the Medical Social Work Department, Hospital Al-Sultan Abdullah (HASA) for its valuable cooperation and commitment throughout the implementation of the programme. The closing ceremony was officiated by Tuan Haji Norhamidi bin Mohd Ansor, Headmaster of Sekolah Kebangsaan Puncak Alam.
It is hoped that programmes such as this will continue to strengthen the culture of lifelong learning, foster meaningful collaboration, and contribute to the development of an information-literate community that embraces healthy lifestyle practices.
