SHAH ALAM, March 4, 2026 – To keep pace with rapid digital advancements, the Digital Library Division of the UiTM Library Department successfully organized an online workshop titled "Basic Joomla Workshop: Transforming Library Website Management through Artificial Intelligence (AI) Technology".
This initiative aims to ensure the official UiTM Library portal remains a premier, accurate, and user-friendly reference hub. By integrating the robust Joomla Content Management System (CMS) with AI capabilities, the library is taking a significant step forward in enhancing digital information delivery.
- The workshop focuses on empowering staff with fundamental Joomla skills and using Artificial Intelligence (AI) to enhance content creation and information optimization.
- It aims to train 13 staff members across various branch campuses to ensure website maintenance is consistent, secure, and aligned with official university guidelines.
- The program builds professional confidence in handling technical tasks, specifically AI-assisted narrative writing and Search Engine Optimization (SEO).
A total of 13 participants, consisting of professional and executive staff from various branch campuses including Kelantan, Johor, Selangor, Terengganu, Penang, and Sarawak joined this training session. Key objectives of the workshop included:
Structured Exposure: Providing new staff with a systematic foundation in using and managing the Joomla system.
Unified Governance: Training branch campus staff to maintain website content according to official UiTM guidelines to ensure inter-campus consistency.
AI Integration: Introducing AI as a support tool for content creation, text improvement, and efficient information optimization.
Professional Independence: Building staff confidence to manage the library portal independently and professionally.
The session opened with a welcoming address and an introduction to library website management by Mr. Mohd Izwan Salim. Participants then engaged in technical modules led by internal staf that is by Mrs. Hasnatul Sabarina that guided participants through Joomla setup, new application functions, and the use of AI tools for narrative writing. Then the session continued by Mr. Mohamad Amarfarhan that conducted a session on Search Engine Optimization (SEO) using AI technology to ensure library content is easily discoverable by users. Through this workshop, the UiTM Library hopes to foster a more efficient, systematic, and competitive digital environment. This transformation is not just about technology, but about empowering library personnel to adapt to innovation and provide the best possible service to the university community.
